Dr. Bhatia Medical Coaching Institute (“DBMCI” below) has announced creation of a joint
venture company for strengthened offline preparatory services to medical students in India. M3,
Inc. and its subsidiaries (“M3 Group,” below) operate a specialized web portal for medical
professionals that delivers healthcare-related information to its 320,000+ physician members in
Japan, and 6.5 million physicians across its global platform. Through one of its subsidiaries, M3
Group also provides a learning platform “Marrow” for medical PG preparation in India.
DBMCI which was established in 1996 by Dr. Mukesh Bhatia is a pioneer in post-graduate
medical entrance examination. DBMCI provides post-graduate medical coaching for PG NEET
and FMGE examinations through pre-recorded lectures and contents, live video classes (at
home and at center) and face-to-face centers spread-across India. DBMCI is one of the well-
known brands and schools in this industry, which has been producing proficient doctors and
providing qualitative education for its long history since 1996
The JV entity will house the offline business of DBMCI and will operate face to face
classes, live video based coaching for preparation of the national examination to enter post-
graduate medical courses. DBMCI will be able to provide a much better digital experience to its
students leveraging synergies with the M3 Group’s existing businesses and technology.
The transaction will enable M3 Group to enter the offline preparatory school business for
doctors and medical students in India. Together with its existing online learning platform, M3
Group will provide a wider range of learning opportunities and better quality learning services
for doctors and medical students, thereby contributing to the advancement of medical care in
India.
On this transaction, KPMG India acted as exclusive transaction advisor to DBMCI and its
shareholders.
