The NEET PG August 2025, conducted by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), has concluded. We reached out to students across the country to understand their experience. Based on their responses, we’ve compiled a detailed analysis covering the exam’s difficulty level, question patterns, subject-wise weightage, and key takeaways. This blog presents a concise summary of their insights and conclusions.

NEET PG 2025: Difficulty Level & Paper Pattern

71% of students found the test moderately tough, while 9 %of students found the exam difficult.

Clinical, integrated, or one-liner: What dominated this attempt?

While many rated it “moderately tough and easier than NEET PG 2024 most found it challenging, with no easy questions and tricky options. It was mostly dominated by clinical (32%) and integrated (21%) type of questions. It’s PYQ-heavy, conceptually demanding questions demanded better time management despite reduced image-based questions (18%).

How many questions do most students attempt in NEET PG?

76.90% of the students could attempt 151-200 questions.

20.48% could attempt 101-150 questions.

Few students attempted fewer than 100 questions.

Was time management an issue in INI-CET May 2025?

While 88% of test-takers completed the exam within the allotted time, qualitative feedback reveals significant time pressure challenges, with students describing the paper as ‘a bit lengthy’ and finding it difficult to ‘easily finish within the time limit.’ The majority of students finished successfully, but 12% could not complete all questions due to the paper’s demanding pace and complex question structures.

Which subjects had the most weightage in NEET PG 2025?

Top subjects with high question density

Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBGYN) emerged as the subject with the maximum number of questions and the highest weightage. While subjects like Medicine, Microbiology, Surgery, and Community Medicine (PSM) formed a clear high-yield tier, with multiple respondents confirming their prominence, Anatomy and Biochemistry received mixed reports.

Subjects with unexpectedly low representation

Physiology (most frequently cited), Anaesthesia, Dermatology, and Orthopaedics, followed by Forensic Medicine and Paediatrics.

Biochemistry, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Anatomy had split opinions, appearing in both high and low-weightage lists due to perception gaps.

Based on student feedback for NEET PG 2025, Anatomy, Medicine, Community Medicine (PSM), and Biochemistry emerged as the most frequently cited challenging subjects.

Community Medicine was particularly highlighted by multiple respondents as especially demanding, reflecting its consistent difficulty across aspirants.

Which resources helped most with NEET PG 2025?

Live classes (especially Live 360), OneShot revision courses, and detailed notes were cited as the most valuable resources, alongside rigorous practice of Previous Year Questions (PYQs) and question banks. While some students credited these resources as “worth gold” most emphasized that success depended on a strategic combination of resources and clinical understanding.
